the new EU standard on Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) EN16991:2018 was published on May 1, 2018!

The standard was published by the Dutch Standardization Body NEN on May 1, 2018 (see https://www.nen.nl/NEN-Shop-2/Standard/NENEN-169912018-en.htm), followed by Swedish SIS (https://www.sis.se/api/document/preview/80003807/) - other national bodies will follow shortly.

The standard continues the new directions in the area of RBI, established already by the pre-standard CWA 15740:2008/2011, it is aligned with the concepts of API and will be further supported by the national documents such as VGB 506-S. The standard is already mentioned in the legislation of a number of countries and supports the more efficient and effective inspection and maintenance planning in industry (power, process, other). At the same time, the standard improves risk management and, thus, safety of the plants and their operation, including all aspects of improved safety, environment and business management. The concepts in the standard have been already applied in practice in many countries and, thus, "combat-tested".

The standard will be presented in detail on the

EN16991:2018 Workshop - Concepts, details, applications
at premises of EnBW in Stuttgart on
October 16, 2018

"Pencil" the day of the workshop, the details about the workshop will follow in the due course. For questions or queries, pls feel free to contact us (rbi@risk-technologies.com).

News Photo

SHAPE, the SME HPC Adoption Programme in Europe is a pan-European, PRACE-based programme supporting HPC adoption by SMEs. The Programme aims to raise awareness and equip European SMEs with the expertise necessary to take advantage of the innovation possibilities opened up by High Performance Computing (HPC), thus increasing their competitiveness.

HPC is a powerful technology that can enable the development of new products or services, reduce time-to-market and cost of R&D or increase quality. The opportunities opened up by HPC are vast and an increasing number of SMEs turn to HPC in order to create new business opportunities.

The Programme will help European SMEs overcome barriers to using HPC, such as cost of operation, lack of knowledge and lack of resources. It will facilitate the process of defining a workable solution based on HPC and defining an appropriate business model.
